ABOUT ME
I'm Lauren, and "Wave N' Wear" is an idea inspired by my passion for thrifting. I started up back in 2023 after being invited to share my passion for thrifting at a local community market. Thrifting vintage pieces has always been a favorite passtime of mine and I created this brand to share my vision with others. Bringing old beauty back to life and giving it new purpose.
Choosing to live my life so closely by the Sea is something I have taken into consideration when creating my brand. Rescuing and reusing old materials, rather than supporting fast fashion which contributes to creating more waste & eventually ends up in our precious waters.
My Vision
I believe all clothing is a piece of art, a direct reflection of ones true self, and raw emotion. It's a medium with no bounds and endless possibilities. It is formless, genderless, & Ageless.
My Story
Growing up in a small midwest suburb, where houses looked much the same and most folks were afraid to "make a scene" or go outside of the "social norms," I was obsessed with standing out. I didn't want to just blend into the background, I wanted to express who I really was. I wanted to be seen & heard, & I wanted my story to be told.

I suppose for this reason, ever since I can remember, I have always been drawn to clothing. Different types of fabrics and textures, prints and colors. Always experimenting with different styles, fearless of being judged for wearing what I want and being unapologetically myself. I recall countless times being forced to change or "cover up" at school, being shamed by certain teachers for simply just being in a girl body. While my education would get disrrupted & lunches skipped in fear of being spotted by the "hawkeyes" in the hallway, I didn't stand down from the fight of owning who I was. Growing up my dad would always comment on my fits and call them my "costumes" but I suppose ive formed some truth into that.
While clothing can be for practical purpose, it can also be made to play and have fun. It can protect and shield you from the outside world. It can comfort and empower. it can give and takeaway confidence. It allows you to play in the roles in life you were born lead.
